Renegade Row

An exercise to strengthen the core muscles, shoulders, arms, back, and glutes. It can also highlight possible imbalances in strength so you can address those weak links in the future. Remember, you are only as strong as the weakest link in your body.

Here is how to do the Renegade Row

Assume a press-up/plank position with your hands resting on dumbbells. I highly recommend using hexagon dumbbells or dumbbells that have a flat side for more stability. Ensure the flat side of the dumbbell is resting on the floor. For added stability, maintain a stance wider than hip-width and keep your hands under your shoulders. Tuck your pelvis and engage your core by sucking your belly button in.

Slowly shift some of your weight towards your left side without twisting your hips as you pull the dumbbell in your right hand towards your right hip bone. Repeat the same movement on the other side. If this version is too challenging at the moment, rest your knees on the ground and practice the exercise in that modified position until you get stronger.

For those seeking an extra challenge, add some press-ups after every two repetitions.
